Bright Lips for Summer!

Long story short, I've had this post in draft since March.... I know, who does that? Anyway there was a whole bunch of stuff in here about the weather, so it doesn't matter much now because it's July! I definitely won't be referring to specific dates and times anymore, unless I'm posting right then and there... Lesson learned.

So, it's time to start easing into the neon and bright trend. Besides incorporating it into your wardrobe, you can easily do a pop of color on your lips. When you're sporting a neutral eye, which the majority of us do everyday, it's super easy to add a bright lip because it won't clash with your makeup. It's also the easiest way to brighten up any look, especially when you're wearing a white tee and some jean shorts! There are so many options out there but here are a few of my favorites!
(I will be adding the rest of the swatches soon, and possibly adding more to the list!)

Left to right
Maybelline Coral Crush, Revlon Coral Berry, Revlon Siren, MAC Watch Me Simmer, MAC Viva Glam Gaga,
MAC Ever Hip, Maybelline Baby Lips Pink Punch

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains! (Sale alert!)

This is going to be a quick informative post, with a full review of this product with swatches to come. I'm also planning to do a video review on these too! I recently spotted the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains at Rite Aid a couple of weeks ago and picked one up instantly. Then, I saw them again at Target the other day and got another one. They were $8.99 at Rite Aid and under $8 at Target. However, this week, 5/27-6/2, Revlon eye, face, and lip cosmetics are 40% off! So, this would be the perfect opportunity to either pick one up to try, or grab a few at a great price!

Here are my initial thoughts on these.

-Comparable to Tarte LipSurgence
-Slight minty smell that doesn't last long
-Long lasting, leaves a stain
-Slight to no transfer even when drinking
-After 1-3 hours of wear it's still there but starts to dry out
-Not a moisturizing product after it's been on a while

Overall-- I like it! Definitely worth a try, especially if you like stains!

Here are a couple pictures of one of mine. Check back in the next couple days for more!

This is 025 Sweetheart Valentine

Have any of you tried these yet? Will you be running to Rite Aid tomorrow like me to get some more?

Revlon ColorStay 16 Hour Eye Shadow Quads

Adding to my drugstore makeup addiction of late, I have another new makeup product to share with you. I think I now have a new product from just about every makeup company on my blog! Anyway, Revlon recently released 16 new eye shadow quads, in a variety of colors. Just like how I felt about the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush, that they may have been a replacement for the Dream Mousse Blush, I have a feeling these may be replacing the Revlon ColorStay 12 Hour Eyeshadows, though I'm not certain.

*I also want you all to know that this week (1/15-1/21) at Rite Aid, all Revlon eye cosmetics are 40% off! So, this would be a great time to pick up some of these! Thanks to G, over at Nouveau Cheap for always being in the know on the best deals! You should all do yourselves a favor and subscribe to her blog for the latest sales and new product sightings.

L'Oreal 24hr Infallible Eyeshadows

Guess what? I have another new eye product from the drugstore!! I've been going crazy with these lately but I'm in love with this one! The hype around this product has been around for months, when it first showed up in other countries and then in Canada I believe and us in America were going crazy wondering when we were ever going to get these! Then they finally were popping up inside Bed Bath & Beyond stores that have a Harmon beauty section and slowly they are now showing up everywhere, thank goodness! Well, as soon as I heard that my Bed Bath & Beyond added a makeup section I ran over and was freaking out when I found these. I bought three, two for me, one for a friend. I didn't go too crazy. Then I saw reviews and swatches and had to pick up another one at the drugstore. They've been compared to Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Intense Eyeshadow, but since I have never seen those in person, and don't own them, I can't say for sure. (They do look pretty similar and have the same idea with the 24 hr eyeshadow and the pressed pigment.)

Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush: Plum Wine

There have been an overwhelming amount of new products that have been released recently at the drugstore. I've been picking up a lot of them, I just can't resist a new product, especially the unique ones! This one is definitely one of those unique ones. It's called Dream Bouncy Blush by Maybelline. Now, I'm wondering if these are going to replace the Dream Mousse Blushes since most of them were on sale in the massive CVS clearance sale. I'm not sure about that, just a thought, but either way both products are very different in consistency for sure.

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr Eyeshadow swatches!

Ever since I heard the buzz about these I've been dying to get my hands on them! I finally found them at CVS yesterday and they were a good price with a good deal! So, they were only $6.99 which shocked me, I thought for cure they would be more expensive, then, this week at CVS, Maybelline eye and lip cosmetics are buy $15 get $5 extrabucks (the limit is 4 per household and it's going on through January 7th!)! So, I bought 3, got my extrabucks, and got one for about $2! Since they are a pretty good price at the drugstore it means when you see them at Target, they'll probably be even cheaper, but this is a good deal with the extrabucks so I had to pick them up!

Anyway, I've heard these are being compared to MAC Paint Pots, which had people going crazy! Also, the color range is amazing. I only picked up four for now, but I'm sure I'll be getting at least one or two more in the near future. Now, I haven't worn these yet, but I wanted to show you you swatches and tell you about the deal in case you wanted to pick them up. I'll let you know more about how they wear once I've tried them a few times but I hear they're amazing!

So, here they are, enjoy!

The container is almost identical to MAC Paint Pots, a little less rounder. These contain .14oz of product where MAC Paint Pots have .17oz. I like how you can see the color you're getting through the bottom, which is also the same in both these and Paint Pots.

Above, you can see the shimmer in all of them, except the one on the bottom right, when the sunlight is directly on them.

But, as you can see, the simmer doesn't really transfer out of of the pot. You can see it a little in the 3rd swatch, 15 Audacious Asphalt, but not really in anything else. But, I feel like I wouldn't really wear these alone. They would be my base so it doesn't really bother me.

Top to bottom: 50 Edgy Emerald, 30 Pomegranate Punk, 15 Audacious Asphalt, 35 Tough as Taupe.

I love that there's a drugstore alternative to a Paint Pot, especially one in all these colors at such a good price. There is also a purple and a blue one of these the I remember among many others. I would definitely check them out if I were you! Did you get any already?

MAC Glitter & Ice haul!

First I would like to start by saying that when I saw the promo pictures of this years MAC holiday collection I was so excited because I wanted NOTHING, that's right, nothing! I don't know, there just wasn't anything I felt like I needed to have. Then the other day I was shopping with my cousin and we stopped at the MAC counter and decided to take a look at the collection in all it's sparkly glory. Big mistake! She ended up getting two things from the collection that I had to do a double take on because I really like then and a few other things from the permanent line. So, needless to say I went back and got myself what I saw that night and one more thing. When I went back I swatched a bunch of things and my hands looked like a glitter bomb just exploded on me, no joke! I know things are already selling out and blah, blah, but check all options of department stores online and your counters to see what they have!

Second, Normally I would do a haul as a video but since this is small and I would want to show you swatches anyway, I figured I would throw a blog post together! Enjoy!

I bought two paint pots and a mineralized eyeshadow!

Eyes Of The Day: Pop of color (Mermaid)

Lately I've been adding pop's of color on my eyes and today I wanted to go a little more dramatic just for the fun of it. I love this look for summer, but also for any day! For the pop of color I used two different eyeliners, plus a black eyeliner, but then stuck with neutral eyeshadows, which makes the look more wearable I feel. Either way though, whether you use bright eyeshadow colors or try out a new eyeliner I think it's fun to change up that everyday neutral look that we all have.

Lips Lovin...Orange?

Orange is a huge color for spring/summer this year, but it can be a little intimidating especially as a bold lip color. At first I thought I would just pass and stick to bright pinks but there are some great alternatives to the matte orange's you're seeing straight off the runway or in the magazines. If you're not too sure about this trend I would definitely recommend to try it in a lip gloss! That way you can get the best of both worlds by getting to try the color trend, but it's toned down and a little more doable because it's in a gloss. It can be tricky however to find a good gloss that gives off enough color pay off but I found such a good one below!

1. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Coral Reef (SPF 15)

Amazing color pay off! Not sticky, goes on smooth, great texture, super creamy and I just love it! I bought mine at CVS and it was $8.99, but revlon is always on sale at the drugstore buy one get one half off so look out for that and for manufactures coupons online and in your sunday adds!

2. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick (Creme) in Coral-Berry 674

Compared to the lipgloss and the color orange (see pictures below), there is definitely more of a "berry" base to this color which I like and think is what makes it more wearable. However, don't let that fool you, if you don't want to be noticed then I wouldn't go out wearing this because it's an eye catcher for sure! I really like it though, it's so different for me but so fun for summer! I would keep your makeup simple to really make this pop, but there's no rules in makeup so you can so all out and do another pop of color on the eyes too.
This lipstick was $5.94 when I bought it at Walmart but again, Revlon products are available at all drugstores and almost always on sale!

Below are the these two swatched on a piece of paper along side an orange crayon to see how "orange" they really are... click to enlarge if necessary.
Top left: Coral Reef
Bottom Left: Coral-Berry
Right: Orange Crayola Crayon

Left: Coral Reef Lipgloss
Right: Coral-Berry Lipstick

So are you going to try out this orange lip trend? Maybe just a bright lip? Thoughts?

Smashbox : Wish For The Perfect Pout!

On Black Friday this past year, I was one of the crazy shoppers that work up way too early to go shopping to catch some good deals. Among them was at Sephora. With any $25 purchase, before a certain hour I believe or while supplies last, you got a free tote. Since there's always something I want in Sephora, plus a free item and I was out anyway, why not? So what did I buy? Well as you can tell from the title I purchased the Smashbox limited edition Wish For The Perfect Pout lip gloss set. Since I only needed to spend $25 and this cost $29 I thought it would be perfect! *Also, $1 of ever WISH product that Smashbox sells goes to the Children's Miracle Network.

Basically you get two full size glosses which is 0.20 oz and four mini lip glosses which are 0.14 oz. If you were to buy a regular Smashbox lip gloss, it would run you $18 for one gloss that contains 0.20 oz of product. There are other Smashbox lip glosses that are $21 and contain less product, 0.10 oz, however, so make sure you're aware of what you're buying. This entire set only costs $29, so clearly it's amazing deal even if for whatever reason you only end up loving one or two of the colors. Candid, Baby Pout and Radiant are all permanent colors that can be purchased separately and in full size. This is limited edition but is still available for the time being on Sephora's website! Here are some swatches (swatched in order they come in the box) and a little review that I hope will better help you decide!

love these glosses! As you can tell from the pictures, some of them have definite blue shimmer in them which is a nice added touch. This set gives you a nice range of colors that everyone can wear. They're not terribly pigmented, but I wouldn't call them sheer either, except for Luster. Even so, I wear them on their own or over my favorite lipstick to add some shimmer. You can feel the glitter in the gloss when your wearing it but that doesn't bother me. They're not sticky but aren't super long lasting, but overall I love them and think this is a must have! Get them before they're gone!
