Golden Globe Awards Best Dressed!

When ever there is an award show I usually watch. I have to say this award show in particular isn't all that exciting because a lot of the movies and shows that were nominated I've never even heard of, haven't seen or I don't watch. However, I do love seeing all the celebrities get together and sit at a dinner table with one another, it's so different. Anything can happen. Also, like any award show, it's a night of fashion. I usually watch the red carpet shows that start over an hour before the actual show begins. It's when all the critiquing begins and the best and worst dressed lists are started, right when the celebrities are getting out of their cars, how rude! Anyway, I love seeing what everyone is wearing, what they have to say when they win, what the good jokes of the night are and best of all seeing who wore the best dress! So, let's see what I thought.

In my opinion there were a few standout stars. As soon as I saw them it was clear to me, they would be on the best dressed lists for sure.

1. Reese Witherspoon in a red, fitted, Zac Posen. She looked effortlessly beautiful. The dress was perfect for her, she wore the perfect amount of jewelry and her hair and makeup was so simple and it worked so well.

She did a simple winged liner and some lipgloss with the most perfect beach waves we wish we all could achieve. Anyone else who wore this hair style with a dress like this probably would have looked ridiculous, but not Reese.

2. Jessica Alba in Gucci. She was absolutally glowing with the most perfect bronzed skin (take note Robe Lowe) that complimented the jeweled light lavender dress so well. She was stunning!

3. Heidi Klum in a blush almost nude Calvin Klein. The turquoise statement necklace made the look. This necklace, by Lorranie Schwartz, turned boring color into an amazing dress all around. She too went for a minimalist makeup and hair look, which worked, but I would have loved to have seen a smokey eye. I also think she could have done without that other brown ring.

4. Kate Winslet in Jenny Packham. Kate looks gorgeous in everything she wears and I love hearing her speak, but this was such a unique dress and it looked great on her. It was fitted, black and white and cut out in the right places. Elegant, classy, yet chic. I also really love her hair!

Then I have a couple notable mentions. A couple dressed that I liked but can't exactly say I loved like the rest.

Claire Danes in J. Mendel. Love the back, the front, not so much! I do however love her hair and makeup. They compliment the dress extremely well!

Laura Dern in an Andrrew Gn dress. I love the color and the sparkle. there's just something about it! It could have done without the belt for sure, there was enough going on without that. Also, I didn't love the hair, it was a little too much.

Last but not least, Emma Stone. I didn't like her dress at all actually. I felt like it aged her, the style and the color especially. When she usually wears fresh and young styles that are out of the box, I didn't think this was one of those times. I did however, really love her makeup. It was different and fresh and I loved it! It made her eyes really pop.

That's my recap of the 69th annual Golden Globe Awards! I also loved how George Clooney brought Brad Pitt's cane on stage with him when he was presenting Brad's film Moneyball. It was also super cute watching the assembly line that included George Clooney, to get Meryl Streep her glasses that she had forgotten at her table up on stage with her so she could read her speech. Ricky was rather tamed in my opinion, but still pretty funny! Overall, the winners didn't matter much to me, although I'm glad Morgan Freeman was honored again and that The Help's Octavia Spencer won! I also vote for Jimmy Fallon to host all award shows...he's amazing!  What are your thoughts on the night? Who were the best and worst dressed in your opinion?
