'The Vampire Dairies' rave & review! The End of the Affair

If you follow me on twitter, or perhaps have ever see my tumblr, you already know how much I love The Vampire Diaries. I'll try not to get into my profound love for the show too much here and get straight to my recap of last nights show, but I do feel like I need to give a little bit of why I am so obsessed with it because I've never talked about it on here before. Since I could go on forever about the things I love about the show, I'll try my best to sum it up. Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev, and Paul Wesley lead the stellar cast whose chemistry is beyond words. Yes, there are vampires, obviously, and there are also witches and even werwolves, but it's more than just supernatural. Family drama, heart break and love triangles, unknown mystery and the best cliffhangers you've ever witnessed in your life. Oh, and did I mention the super hot and talented cast? The Vampire Diaries just started season three on the CW network, and I urge everyone to watch it, but from the beginning! If you start now, it's pretty safe to say you'll be pretty lost and asking a lot of questions. You'll appreciate the growth of the show and the characters, and the ones we've lost along the way as well, if you start from the top.

So, if you've never seen the show, then I hope you check it out, Thursday, 8pm, CW, go, you won't be sorry; but I apoligize if you have no idea what I'm talking about as I keep going. If you do watch the show, but haven't seen the latest episode yet, then you may want to wait to read this because there may be slight spoilers. Otherwise, I hope you all enjoy and have the same love for TVD as me!

Last night's episode was insane. I hesitate to even say it was one of my favorites, because that list is forever growing and the writers just keep topping themselves, but okay, it was one of my favorites. Not your normal flashback episode, it was so much more, and my favorite flashback by far, that I can say! Maybe because of the time period, the twenties, or maybe because Stefan and Rebecca made it look so appealing, I just wanted to be there, (I have a feeing this halloween will be filled with fabulous flappers and rippahs thanks to this one.) But, one of the reasons I knew I had to watch this episode a few more times was because Damon was freaking hilarious. His sarcastic wittiness, mixed with his sexy, "Damon eyes," were better than ever last night. I mean the one liners just kept coming! I had to rewind a couple times during the actual show to make sure I didn't miss anything and I've already watched this episode three times and caught a few more things that I didn't catch the first time around. But, I didn't just re-watch because of Damon, although that's reason enough for me, but because of how 'epic' the show was last night. The 'killer,' no pun intended, flash back where, may I say, Stefan was hotter and more in charge than ever, mixed with more originals, it was crazy good. (Since I mentioned how hot Stefan looked in the '20s, I have to pause, because Klaus made note of his hair back in the day, which made me laugh, because the way hair on this show is practically it's own character. It's too funny, I love it. Back to the roaring twenties.) It made me wish I was there with them, back in the '20s, until I realized my name would have ended up on Stefan's shrine, and it wouldn't have had a '4 eva-->' next to it anywhere. Bummer. However, what Stefan later found in his closet that night was a great surprise and the way it played out was PERFECT! I so did not think what he found was going to be wine, but didn't really think he would give her up either. There were also some intense Caroline, Tyler, Sheriff & Dad scenes that I can't neglect to mention. Boy was I glad to see Caroline's mom & Tyler walking down those stairs. But, it was kind of hard for me to go from the twenties, to Caroline burning in the basement, back to the twenties or present day Chicago...Then I got over it because Tyler did his thing, and the sparks flew as usual. Oh, and one other thing, just a minor detail, Katherine's back.

Overall, this was seriously an amazing episode. You really have to watch it to appreciate it, but I'm going to end this with some of the best Damon quotes of the night; it was kind of chock-full of them. Also, some people around the Vampire Diaries following like to give out 'awards' at the end of every episode, but I really don't think I could do it for this one. Everyone was stellar, and delivered as usual, but everyone was way too good, I can't decide. Don't make me. So, onto Damonisms, enjoy.

"You know you were dreaming about me, it explains the drool."-Damon

"It came to me in a dream. I was naked, you would have loved it."-Damon

"Let's just say he's not there to meet Oprah." -Damon

"I'm shocked! Stefan's not a virgin?!"-Damon

"Eyes on the road grandma." -Elena
"Fine, back to my game. Tell me when you see a Florida plate."- Damon

"Get dressed, you're all road-trippy and gross."- Damon

"She's not going anywhere until she's got you checked into vampire rehab and on the mend. Trust me, I've tried."- Damon

So, what do you think? Do any of you watch the show? If you do, what did you think of last nights episode, and if you don't, well why not?!
