Today I come to you with a question, for those of you who make videos and publish them to youtube. So, basically I've been making videos on my channel for a little while now and want to keep making them more frequently but I've ran into a major issue... there's no more space on my hard drive! I have a Macbook Pro and I've had it for about two years now and I use iMovie to edit and upload my videos. I have thousands, like 9,800 pictures on my computer, but the videos take up a lot of space I understand. So basically I'm asking this, when you've uploaded your video to youtube do you guys keep all of them on your computer, back them up onto something or am I missing something? Also, should I be exporting the video in a different way so it's not taking up space on my computer? Any advice would be much appreciated!
I am in the process of getting an external hard-drive and when that comes everything will be backed up and I will have the option of deleting pictures, but for the people that have hundreds of videos I just wonder how they store them!
Thanks!

Hi Maria :) I am definitely not someone who has hundreds of videos but I can definitely try to help. I also have a MacBook (not pro) and have had it 3 years exactly. Just now I am running out of space on my hard drive so I thought I would clean things up a bit little by little. I started with iPhoto. I deleted unnecessary or failed pictures first. I went from having 12,000 pictures to 7.600 which gave me around 12-15 GB back! The next thing I think I'm doing is deleting emails from the mail app because I have so much random stuff being stored in the app its ridiculous. I don't know about saving or uploading videos as different files but you're definitely on the right track with the external drive. That will certainly help things out with backing up your data. After you back it up though I say you should definitely delete some of the not so important/unique videos. I feel like hauls/favs/reviews are kind of nonessential to forever keeping even if you somehow lose it but maybe a really good tutorial that you worked a long time on through editing and practicing would be worth saving, you know what I mean? Anyways hope this helps!
