Nail Of The Day : Not Like The Movies -OPI Katy Perry

A few days ago I picked up a few of the new Katy Perry for OPI nail polishes and I absolutely love them! There are four colors total in the collection plus the black shatter polish. I bought Teenage Dream, Not Like The Movies and Black Shatter. 

 

I've been really excited to try these and today I finally did! In the picture below I'm wearing Not Like The Movies with the Black Shatter over my ring finger. 

I used three coats to achieve this color and as you can see it's really unique. When your nail is directly in the light it looks green, other times it looks more purple and the rest of the time it's a mixture of both with some gray tones and fine silver shimmer. 

I really like the texture of this polish overall. It goes on sheer but builds nicely with each coat. I also like that the silver glitter in it is very fine (not chunky like the Teenage Dream is) but is still noticeable.

The Black Shatter polish is something that it totally new to me so I was worried about how it would come out but in the end I like it! My advise would be to get enough on your brush, not too much though, so that you can paint your nail with just one to two strokes of the brush. The less strokes you need to make the better because once it hits your nail it begins to shatter. This is also the first time I've used it so with practice and trying out different techniques I'm sure I'll be able to find better ways to use it.
